What do you think of RTD's justification of genocide and what it implies in his fans who keep insisting how getting rid of that was terrible writing? I hope this doesn't sound agressive or anything I'm just in a bad mood and I think you could have a better insight than I do.

I don’t think it implies anything about his fans. Realistically, we all enjoy problematic media of some kind. Whether we’re aware of that media’s problematic aspects (the racism in Turn Left and Talons, the sexism in games like Okami) and grit our teeth and enjoy them anyway, or we’re unaware of the problematic portions of it (Davies fans).
I mean, the key is to elucidate these elements so that, if they are to be continued to be enjoyed, they can be enjoyed thoughtfully and fully aware of the problematic portions.
And I think that, in terms of the removal of the Time War and the (actually surprisingly small) backlash over it… Well, I’d say that people got used to it. They went into Doctor Who and their first experience was with Davies. Since Davies made such a big deal out of this stupid off-screen event, people began to think of Doctor Who as “That Time War show” and the tragedy as an integral part of The Doctor’s character. Because Davies decided to make sweeping changes to characterisation and sought to codify elements of character and plot that really shouldn’t have been codified, a whole generation of people were brought up on “This is what Doctor Who is about: A man troubled by the Time War and his companions that make him better.” Whether that worked or not is moot - the show evolved beyond needing it (if it indeed ever needed it at all) and I think a lot of people feel betrayed, but primarily due to their lack of understanding on the show’s past and how it operates. Davies, by codifying elements of personality and trying to define the show in his image, ended up limiting the possibilities for narrative and Moffat has been stripping those out so that he, and future showrunners, can have complete freedom in storywriting. I just think a lot of Davians don’t understand that.Вот очень точно. Про возможности. И эволюцию.
И про "не знают другого".
